Homeless not hopeless
As I’m sure the people interviewed for this project would be quick to point out, not all people who are homeless have mental illnesses. But many do. So I’m reblogging with an FYI about Folktime. If you know someone in Portland who has an Axis I diagnosis (depression, schizophrenia, psychotic disorder, etc.) — homeless or not — spread the word. They can get a free meal, free food to take home (almost always provided by Trader Joes) and a safe, warm place to hang out (and make paintings, with instruction from yours truly) by joining Folktime. (Just be sure to check out the eligibility requirements.)Homeless, Not Hopeless
My friend Tavar launched a project to raise awareness of the homeless situation in Portland. You can purchase prints like the one above, and all proceeds go to the Transition Projects shelter.
Please reblog this to get it in front of more people.
